Costa Brava or the “Wild coast” is the Catalonia resort, extended for 200 km to the north from Barcelona, it starts from Blanes up to Empuria Brava at the border. Here for the first time Rome people landed on Iberian Peninsula .

Today it is the world famous resort, where untouched nature is neighbored to cozy beaches, and bays with green trees - to modern resort cities and villages. Due to the quiet sea and soft climate Costa Brava is a real paradise for active rest. Here you can play all kinds of water sports, slide in numerous aqua parks, play golf, water skiing, go fishing. For adventurous people there is an opportunity to walk on foots, go rafting, swim on bidarkas or canoe, drive mountain motorcycles. Besides your can visit the museums, cathedrals, ancient cities and etc. Practically all coast cities have a wide range of night entertainments for every taste. Children will have fun too.

The gourmets will enjoy the local Catalan kitchen: in numerous restaurants and bars you can try sea food and famous Catalan desserts. Costa Brava has a lot of fine resort places, among which the southern cities Blanes, Lloret de Mar and Tossa de Mar, and also northern Cadaques. Spanish people like to spend their holidays in L'Escala resort place, which is a fish port. Numerous water sports fans go to Roses with the longest sandy beach on Costa Brava . La Platja d'Aro beach is very popular – it is a  long strip of sandy beach with hotels and from L'Estartit you can go to Illes Medes, former piracy islands, nowadays it is a sea reserve with production of pearls.

Costa del Maresme is a resort zone, part of Catalonia starting from Tordera and Malgrat de Mar in the north to Montegut in 15 km from Barcelona in the south. This area is known by magnificent beaches, developed infrastructure and soft Mediterranean climate. To the north from Malgrat de Mar Costa del Maresme merges with Costa Brava, thus both coasts are very often called Costa Brava .
